Welcome to Oatfield Country House, Bed & Breakfast accommodation by Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre - comfortable, relaxed, fully en-suite and offering warm, friendly personal attention in an historic Georgian Country House.
The house itself, although fully modernised and including free WiFi throughout, retains a wealth of unspoilt original features from its Georgian and Victorian past and offers a unique, traditional Scottish, period feel including log fires, wood panelling and a fine open galleried hallway.
Grade 2 listed by Historic Scotland, Oatfield is both our family home and a welcoming bed and breakfast - rated four stars by the Scottish Tourist Board, awarded a special Authors Recommendation by the Rough Guide to Scotland and consistently rated at 5 stars on TripAdvisor.
Situated in open countryside and enjoying views of Islay and Jura, it is on the very border between fertile farming land and the wilds that lead, uninterrupted, from here to the end of the Mull.
Set in its own small country estate a few minutes drive from Campbeltown harbour and well away from the main road along a private drive, Oatfield House was built in 1780 for the Laird of the Achachoirk and Garvachy Estate. Completed by local sea captain, Colin McEachran (who had the good fortune to capture a French prize ship during the Napoleonic Wars), it was later substantially extended in the 1890's.
